How Our Architecture Works
Modern web browsers are capable operating environments. Rather than running expensive server clusters that ingest user files, PaperPilot downloads lightweight WebAssembly and JavaScript engines into your browser tab:
- pdf-lib Engine: Enables structural byte manipulation, page extraction, merging, and lossless stream optimization.
- Mozilla PDF.js: Powers precise in-browser page rendering and rasterization for PDF-to-image workflows.
- HTML5 Canvas & JSZip: Delivers instant image scaling, JPEG compression, and client-side ZIP packaging without network overhead.
Sustainable & Honest Business Model
Because we do not store or process files on expensive cloud backend servers, our infrastructure costs remain minimal. We sustain ongoing development and hosting primarily through compliant, non-intrusive web advertising (such as Google AdSense). We will never monetize your data or lock basic features behind a subscription paywall.
